Every year, we try to find a word to encompass the past 12 months, and there were some to be expected: coronavirus, pandemic, and lockdown. But the one we chose may be less obvious: resilience. There is no denying that 2020 was hard. But for all of its trials and tribulations, we made it to 2021 happily and charged.
EXCELSUMHIGH SCHOOL believes in the holistic development of students and strives to technically upgrade them, at the same time imbibe our age old moral values, to develop their EQ along with IQ. Our methodology aims to develop Academic knowledge with essential Life Skills so our young learners benefit from our specialized support and the expertise of learned, qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty.
Teachers and the entire staff members also deserve applause for their tireless efforts in implementing the route map of imparting quality education here. I also extend my heartfelt thanks to the parents of our students who have shown unflinching faith in us by giving us the profound opportunity to transform their children into truly useful citizens of the future world.
With that, let us foresee a world of universal singularity where our children are going to be the propellant of this change and the world shall be a beautiful place to live in..!
The habits of work and the love of learning that emerges in an environment where we actively engage the child’s interest, self-discipline, concentration, self-confidence and motivation will enable the child to undertake whatever it is they need to do. In school and into adulthood, EXCELSUMHIGH SCHOOL aims to develop virtuous ‘Habits of a lifetime”.
The school has a unique Learning Management System CANVAS which enabled us to quickly adapt to online classes as soon as the lockdown was announced.
We believe in the all-round development of the child and hence we took utmost care as the child was constantly confined to their homes and families. Interactive workshops were conducted for teachers as well as students by Mrs Seema Singh and Mrs Sanjukta Majumdar which contributed to their concentration and emotional quotient. Several other workshops on Mental Health and wellbeing were held for teachers as well as students.
Our school hosted an Inter School Poetry Competition and many schools in Amritsar participated and won prizes in various categories.
Story telling is a means for sharing and interpreting experiences and can be used as a method to teach ethics, values and cultural norms and differences. These sessions were held for all classes.
Focussing on all occasions, interactive sessions were held in all classes wherein the class teachers did activities starting from singing, to drawing and crafts, to live cooking sessions and dancing and celebrated each festival with pride. The school tried its best to finish the barrier between the students and school.
Our school students participated in the Online Inter-school English poetry competition organised by Cambridge International School, Amritsar
Rhythm Gill, a Grade 3 student of our school participated in the 32nd Punjab Roller Skating Championship held in Patiala on 27th and 28th February and won the gold medal in the 1000 m rink race, bronze medal in the 500 m rink race and silver medal in the road race.
Rhythm has been selected for the 58th National Roller Skate Championship to be held in Chandigarh-Mohali from 31st March to 11th April.
Hindi Recitation Competition:
Srida Sareen, a grade 8 student of our school, with her emphatic words and expressions touched the hearts of the listeners and made our school proud by bagging the second position in the Hindi Recitation Competition organized by Stalwarts World School. Through her poem titled “Desh ka Andaata” based on the current situation of the farmers she praised the laborious farmers but also expressed their miserable fate and sufferings.
Sahodaya Schools Complex Amritsar applauds and rewards students every year for their efforts in academics and extra-curricular activities. Prakriti Chug of grade 10 won the *Gem of Sahodaya Award 2020* and brought laurels to the school.
Online Inter School Competition
Hardwork and smartness, two key factors lead to success. Ojaswa, a grade IX student bagged the second position in an Online Inter School Competition "Quick Pick" organized by Cambridge International School, Amritsar in which he showed his impeccable knowledge about computers and its various facets.
Inter-school IT Fest
Stalwarts World School organized an INFOTSAV 2020, an inter-school IT Fest on mental health in which a number of schools participated. Prakriti Chug, a grade X student of our school participated in the PowerPoint Presentation and stood 1st.
Online Inter School English Poetry Recitation Competition
The Senior Study School organized an Online Inter School English Poetry Recitation Competition, "Recitare 2020" in which 23 participants from different schools participated. They were awarded under different categories - “Outstanding, Excellent, Very Good and Good” titles.
Shaina, a Grade IX student of our school manifested true oratory skills and confidence; as a result, she stood in the ‘OUTSTANDING CATEGORY’. She recited the poem “If” by Rudyard Kipling delivering an inspiring message of being strong and resilient, the virtues which are utmost needed in this difficult time.
A tribute from the students to the soldiers of our country who stay away from their families and put their lives at risk every day so that we can stay at home worry free. We wouldn’t be able to live this free, independent life, full of aspirations if not for their continued sacrifices. The EXCELSUM family and all of India are indebted and grateful to you.

Behind every successful person is a whole army of people who have enabled individuals to reach their full potential and the teachers form the backbone of that army. So on Independence Day, the students of EXCELSUM HIGH thanked their teachers who are pivotal in their journey to become good citizens and human beings.
Academic Result 2019-20
The academic result 2019-20 reflects the expertise, efforts and commitment of the teaching faculty and the hard work, dedication and success of the students with 100% result.

The highest percentage of the school was 95.4% achieved by Nandini Jain scoring 99 in Math, 97 in Social Science and 96 in Science.
CBSE FIT India Mission
Fitness of students and staff is the prime concern of the management and the school organised online activities where the students participated online and enjoyed the Sports activities. Teacher’s Sports Day was organised on 28th November, 2020.
Interclass talent search competition was held in the month of June, 2020. Students participated actively and uploaded their activities on Facebook.
CBSE Solar Eclipse Activity
Solar Eclipse activity was conducted by CBSE. Online link was sent where students joined the rare activity.
International Yoga Day
CBSE commemorated this day by organising an online session for teachers as well as students.
1. A webinar was conducted for grade 9 on Newton's first and third law by Goyal Brothers.
2. A webinar was conducted for G10 on electricity by Goyal Brothers.
3. A webinar was conducted for the staff by Orient Black Swan.
4. Webinar on cultivating reading habits by HRD Minister for students
5. A webinar was organised on Career counselling for G9-10 by Mr.Jatin Chawla.
PTA Activities/ Important SMC decisions
1. Extension of affiliation till 2025.
2. Online classes in full swing.
3. CBSE Result was 100% (first batch).
4. Motivating staff time to time for attending workshops.
5. All rules laid by Govt. are being followed by the school.
6. Proper sanitization every day and placards are put up everywhere in school.
7. Staff is attending workshops to connect to the updates in the education field.
8. To uplift the staff spirits and break the monotony staff lunches are organized by the school.
9. Virtual festival celebrations and PTMs are held time to time.
